About

Me

“Artist. I want to be an artist when I grow up.”

I wrote that when I was five and it has remained my personal mission statement for more than two decades. However, until I “grow up,” I will still create art and use my skills to a productive end.

For me, graphic design is flourishing within constraints. In fact, good design leverages the constraints such that they become the fundamental structure on which the piece exists. I view every design assignment as a problem I can solve with creativity and effort.

Igbi

Almost twenty years ago, I participated in a Multi-Cultural Interdisciplinary Unit project; my group researched Russia. In the course of our studies, we discovered the Best Holiday Ever: Igbi.

To the best of my knowledge, the Internet contains only a handful of pages with information on Igbi. There is my Igbi page, an article on answers.com, an article on TFD, an article in Wilson’s Almanac, and a temporary exhibit at the Kunstkamera. The other pages I have seen are in Russian or have gone offline.
